The lemon shark (Negaprion brevirostris) is a large, stout-bodied reef shark that has a pale yellow-brown body and a broad, flattened head. The lemon shark is abundant in tropical reef systems, especially those with sea greass and mangrove habitats. It is highly tolerant of shallow waters with low oxygen levels, such as warm-water mangrove swamps or bays. these sharks are generally not considered aggressive, unless provoked. They reach about 11’.
